The World and Country Group Aggregates (historically called BOPSY) is an annual publication, released each November, of major balance of payments and international investment position components for countries, country groups, and the world.
What the numbers show
International investment position, Liabilities, Adjusted using IMF accounting records (US dollar) is currently reported for 171 countries. The highest value is 62.26 trillion in United States; the lowest is 8.92 million in Tuvalu.
The median across all reporting countries is 60.71 billion, and the mean is 1.26 trillion.
Over the past decade 158 countries rose and 12 fell. The largest increase was in Guyana (up 395.4%), and the largest decrease in Iceland (down 67.8%).
